Mr Lorenzo Macchi obtained his LL.D with distinction at University of Pisa in 2011 with a dissertation in Maritime Law entitled “ Multimodal transport operator, uniform regulation needed”.

He worked as trainee lawyer in Pisa covering a wide range of practices area such as litigation, corporate, dispute resolution and arbitration. Afterword, he completed his internship in a prestigious Notary Firm in London being allocated to the Italian department.

Mr Macchi has also attended several English Law specialisation courses in London before arriving in Southampton where he is currently carrying out an LL.M in Maritime Law. His key sectors are mainly Trade & Commodities, Shipping Law, Multimodal Transport and International Commercial Arbitration.

He is the founder of the blog www.maritimeandcommerciallaw.co.uk, which gathers news, articles and materials in the field of maritime and commercial law. Mr Macchi speaks fluent Italian, English and Portuguese and he is member and legal advisor of Bhalobasa ONLUS, which provide humanitarian services in Africa and South America.

Mr Macchi deals particularly with Italian related legal and consultancy issues in motherland Italy. He is a correspondent for our office in any kind of litigation, arbitration, mediation issues related to maritime, trade, admiralty, insurance, commercial, corporates and civil law matters in Italy.
